Join us
We are an ensemble of around 25 string players, rehearsing every Wednesday afternoon from 2.30 - 5.30pm to work towards concerts at the end of each semester. We play a wide variety of music from Handel to Shostakovich and Strauss to Britten and we work with a range of prestigious conductors who help us maintain a very high standard. We welcome students from every faculty, as well as non-students.
Auditions 2026/27
Auditions for the 2026/27 academic year will take place during Welcome Week:
- Dates: Thursday 17th & Friday 18th September 2026
- Location: Alison House, Lecture Theatre A
- Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- What to prepare: A piece or movement of your choice (approx. 3–5 minutes).

- EUSO / EUCO Scratch Rehearsal: Thursday 17th September, 5:00pm – 9:00pm (Reid Concert Hall)
